3D & 4D Ultrasound

4D ultrasonic technology is based on the 3D ultrasonic image and with the time dimension parameters, which can obtain the 3D image in real time. The 4D ultrasound can be used to check the abdomen, blood vessel, organelle, gynecology, urology, newborn, pediatrics, etc.

Basic X-Ray

A form of electromagnetic radiation, just like visible light. In a health care setting, a machines sends individual x-ray particles through the body. A computer or special film is used to record the images that are created.

Discogram

A diagnostic procedure in which x-ray dye or contrast material is injected into the discs of the spine. After the x-ray dye is injected, an x-ray, called a discogram, is taken of the discs. The results of a discogram are used to plan treatment of the disc itself.

High Field MRI

Also known as Closed MRIs, a stronger magnet (one with a higher field strength) is used, which allows for more detailed images that depict thinner ``slices`` of your brain.

Open MRI

A procedure that allows visualization of soft-tissue structures of the body. Because the patient is not enclosed within the magnetic resonance unit, claustrophobic reactions do not occur with open magnetic resonance imaging, but the scan does take substantially longer to complete.

Upper GI

An upper gastrointestinal (GI) series (barium swallow), is a radiological test that is used to visualize the structures of the upper and middle digestive system - the esophagus, stomach and duodenum.

Arthrogram

A test using X-rays to obtain a series of pictures of a joint after a contrast material (such as a dye, water, air, or a combination of these) has been injected into the joint. This allows your doctor to see the soft tissue structures of your joint, such as tendons, ligaments, muscles, cartilage, and your joint capsule.

Bone Density / DEXA

Bone density scanning, also called dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) or bone densitometry, is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to measure bone loss. DEXA is today's established standard for measuring bone mineral density (BMD).

Epidural Injections

Regional anesthesia that blocks pain in a particular region of the body. The goal of an epidural is to provide analgesia, or pain relief, rather than anesthesia which leads to total lack of feeling. Epidurals block the nerve impulses from the lower spinal segments.

MRA / KUB

An abdominal x-ray is an imaging test to look at organs and structures in the belly area, including the spleen, stomach, and intestines. When the test is done to look at the bladder and kidney structures, it's called a KUB (kidneys, ureters, bladder) x-ray.

Small Bowel Series

Used to look at the small bowel, the part of the digestive tract between the stomach and the colon. A barium compound diluted with water fills the inside of the small bowel, and x-rays are taken.

Barium Swallow

A test that may be used to determine the cause of painful swallowing, difficulty with swallowing, abdominal pain, bloodstained vomit, or unexplained weight loss.

CT Scan

Computerized (or computed) tomography, and often formerly referred to as computerized axial tomography (CAT) scan, is an X-ray procedure that combines many X-ray images with the aid of a computer to generate cross-sectional views and, if needed, three-dimensional images of the internal organs and structures of the body.

Full Body Scan

A scan of the patient's entire body as part of the diagnosis or treatment of illnesses.

Myelogram

Imaging method that uses X-rays and a special dye called contrast material to make pictures of the bones and the fluid-filled space (subarachnoid space) between the bones in your spine (spinal canal).

Ultrasound

An imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce relatively precise images of structures within your body. The images produced often provide valuable information for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions.

Vertebroplasty / Kyphoplasty

A minimally invasive, image-guided therapy used to relieve pain from a vertebral body fracture. It has been used for osteoporotic or malignant fractures.
